You create a free account to use PlanyFI, and no credit card is required. Your data is saved to your account, so it is there when you come back. The free plan gives you full access to build your plan, with 30 days of editing after your first save. After that your plan stays viewable any time, and Premium keeps it fully editable.

YNAB and Monarch Money are budgeting tools. They help you track and manage what you have already spent. PlanyFI is a forward looking financial model. Instead of looking backward at transactions, it projects your net worth, investment growth, and FI milestones years or decades into the future.

Coast FIRE is the point at which you have saved enough that, even without additional contributions, your portfolio will grow to your target retirement number by a specific age. PlanyFI calculates your Coast FI milestone automatically and updates it as you adjust your income, expenses, and investment assumptions.

Your data is never deleted. When the 30 days are up, your plan becomes view only: you can still open it, see all of your projections, and download your data any time, you just cannot make further edits. From there you have two free choices and one paid one: upgrade to Premium to keep your plan and edit it forever, or start over for free, which clears your plan and gives you a fresh 30 days. The clock only resets when you choose to start over.
